Winter is just around the corner and so are promises of pesky colds. Long known as a remedy for coughs, sore throats and indigestion, ginger ale can and should be enjoyed warm when it's nippy outside. Flat ginger ale is a little easier on the tummy while the heat can relieve sore throats. Simply warm a bottle of ginger ale in a sauce pan until warm. A word of caution, though, due to the high sugar content of ginger ale, don't boil. This will be way too hot and will definitely scald your mouth. We like to add a lemon wedge and a cinnamon stick for some additional healing properties. I bet a shot of bourbon wouldn't be horrible either. Get high quality ginger ales and beers here.
