Asian Ginger Ale BBQ Sauce

Recipe savory

Here's an easy and delicious recipe for an Asian-inspired sauce for pork, chicken, beef or vegetables. It's quick to assemble and will last for several weeks in the fridge (if it lasts that long). The key is to use a high quality ginger ale that has real ginger as an ingredients. The real ginger will add a spicy kick to the sauce. Make it as spicy as you like by adding more chili or even red pepper flakes.

Here's what you'll need:

Ginger Ale BBQ Sauce

Asian Ginger Ale BBQ Sauce

1 bottle (12 oz) good quality ginger ale
2 T honey
1 T sriracha (more if you like it spicier)
5 cloves garlic, minced
juice of one lime
1 tsp sesame oil
1 T rice wine vinegar
1/2 c soy sauce
1/2 t black pepper
2 t cornstarch
Add ginger ale to a sauce pan. Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes until reduced by a quarter. Add all ingredients except for cornstarch. Boil for 5 minutes. Reduce heat to simmer. Make slurry with cornstarch and a little water. Add to sauce. This will help to thicken the sauce. Simmer for 5 more minutes. Cool and store in air tight container in the fridge for up to two weeks. Use as a marinade for meats and stir fries. We like it to make Korean tacos!! This would be fantastic on braised pork belly. Really, this is a very versatile sauce with amazing flavor!!  We hope you enjoy. Check out our selection of ginger ales and beers here.
